Discover MRV Arena: Atlético’s home
Brazilians are passionate about football, and now we have one more reason to celebrate: the new home of Clube Atlético Mineiro or “Casa do Galo.” Arena MRV will receive GlassecViracon glass technology, providing modernity and safety for its thousands of fans.
Construction began in 2020 and covers an area of 178,000 m² and has a capacity of 46,000 people. And 2,200 m² of tempered laminated glass with 1.52 mm SentryGlas® Interlayer were used to compose the nine seating sections.
Choosing the proper glass ensures a better experience for passionate and enthusiastic fans. And since it is also a multipurpose project, the space can host other types of entertainment, such as concerts and events.

THE PERFECT MATCH
For this project, which has great importance and relevance for the football team and its supporters, it was essential to choose a glass that combined attributes such as safety and resistance.
Tempered glass offers much more strength than annealed glass and is highly weather resistant. And laminated safety glass provides more safety and high performance to the project, blocks 99% of UV rays, and has many color/opacity options. Therefore, combining laminated safety glass with tempered glass has become the best option.
Moreover, the glass can be manufactured with SentryGlas® interlayer, which helped meet all requirements and expectations, given its excellent strength, rigidity, transparency, and durability.
Lastly, the Horizontal tempering furnace from GlassecViracon and exclusive in Brazil guarantees a planimetry 90% higher than the limit established in world standards. As a result, greater transparency and quality in glass manufacturing. And to ensure minimal optical distortion in the product, all of our heat-treated glass goes through iLook. A high-precision scanner that ensures the tempering process and allows the glass to perform at its best.
